IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay announces a 4-day course on quantitative research methods in human-computer interaction (HCI) from February 25 to 28, 2020.

The course is an exposure to quantitative methods in HCI research with a particular focus on those who are new to research.

Who should attend?

This course is for you if you are:

The course has two main goals. Firstly, it gives participants an exposure to basic theoretical concepts in conducting quantitative studies and performing statistical analysis. Secondly, it gives participants some practice with running quantitative studies. After attending the course, participants should be able to design rigorous quantitative research studies / experiments, conduct them, analyse the findings statistically and report them precisely.

* Only faculty members who are involved with teaching design, HCI or related topics in an educational institute full-time can avail these reduced fees. Visiting or part-time faculty members, those teaching in the industry, freelancers, and those working in the industry need to pay the industry fees.

Fees include lunch and refreshments on the four days of the course. The fees include the course materials, which will be distributed digitally. The fees are inclusive of 18% GST. Fees do not include accommodation. Please note that TDS need not be deducted towards payments made to IIT Bombay. A certificate to this effect is available on request.

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel till January 31, 2020, IIT Bombay will refund 85% of the fees paid (minus GST). If you cancel by February 15, 2020, IIT Bombay will refund 60% of the fees paid (minus GST). There will be no refunds thereafter. However, participant exchange will be allowed till February 22, 2020. For cancellations, please write to anirudha{at the rate}iitb.ac.in.

Accommodation
Shared accomodation is available in the IIT Bombay guest house for a limited number of participants on a first-come-first-served basis. If you require accommodation, please indicate so when you register. Accommodation costs are not included in the registration fee. Please do not pay the accommodation cost at the time of registration - you need to pay these at the venue.
