Build and deploy a personal webpage — today, in class
You will use an AI tool to generate a personal webpage and put it on the real internet with a URL you can send to anyone.
Steps
- Pick a tool. Any of: Claude, v0, Lovable, Figma Make, Cursor. (If one fights you, switch — tool fluency is part of the point.)
- Describe the page you want in plain language: who you are, what it should feel like, what sections it needs. Be opinionated — you're the designer.
- Iterate at least 3 times. Change the layout, the type, the colour, the copy. Notice which prompts move the design and which get ignored.
- Deploy it. Use the tool's publish button, or GitHub Pages/Vercel if your tool doesn't have one.
- Open it on your phone. If it breaks on mobile, that's your first responsive-design lesson — ask the AI to fix it and note what changed.
Things to keep in mind
- This page is public. Don't include your phone number, address, or anything you wouldn't want indexed by Google.
- Ugly-but-shipped beats beautiful-but-local. You can (and will) improve it all semester.
- Save your prompts. Your prompt log is part of your process documentation for this course.

- The live URL, posted to the class group by end of day.
