Kala Chana Tikki
Ingredients:
- 
    1 cup kala chana (black chickpeas), soaked overnight 
- 
    1/2 cup soya granules, soaked 
- 
    2 slices of bread 
- 
    1 tsp garam masala 
- 
    7 green chillies 
- 
    1/4 spoon red chilli powder 
- 
    Ginger-garlic paste (to taste) 
- 
    Salt (to taste) 
- 
    2 tsp lemon juice 
Instructions:
- 
    Soak 1 cup of kala chana overnight. 
- 
    Boil the soaked kala chana for 20 minutes. 
- 
    Grind the boiled kala chana coarsely in a mixer. 
- 
    Break down the soaked soya granules, add to the mixture and mix well. 
- 
    Add 2 slices of bread to the mixture. 
- 
    Mix in 1 tsp of garam masala. 
- 
    Add 7 green chillies (finely chopped). 
- 
    Add 1/4 spoon red chilli powder. 
- 
    Grind ginger and garlic and add to the mixture. 
- 
    Add salt to taste. 
- 
    Mix in 2 tsp of lemon juice. 
- 
    Shape the mixture into small tikkis (patties). 
- 
    Either deep fry the tikkis of shallow fry on a heated pan with a little oil until golden brown on both sides. 
Serving Suggestion:
Serve the kala chana tikkis hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
